Life is what happens while you're busy making plans...

Previous plans have had to be put on hold and I may be a little sporadic (more so then normal!) over then next few weeks. We just found out on Tuesday that after being on the public waiting list for more then a year, Shane is having his heart surgery on Tuesday and will then be at home recovering for 12 weeks. I am shocked, scared, relieved, organizing, terrified, panicked, trying to stay positive, a million things at once. I keep crying at every little thing and we have been trying to pack as much into these three days as possible. Signing leases, organizing payments, wills, loans, time off work. I am so relieved my mum is coming down to stay with me so I don't worry myself sick once he goes in. This really is a good thing because we have been in a holding pattern just waiting for this day but now that it is here, I don't feel strong enough or brave enough to deal with it. Wish us luck and a speedy recovery!

New Motivation

Well I certainly have some solid motivation to get back on that treadmill and try and feel a little bit better about myself. We have just booked a summer holiday on the Goldcoast, staying at the Tiki Village International. My mum was kind enough to get the accommodation for us! We decided the holiday would be even better if we asked her to come with us and she has decided to come (it took some persuading I can tell you!). So time now to save money and slim down a little for those long lazy days by the pool!

I'm Back!!

Semi-Permanent and my little break in Auckland was wonderful. I came back tired, inspired, hopeful and I find myself a little wanting too. I'm not sure what direction I am going to take but I know for sure that somethings are going to have to change. But for now a few random photos...

Well, a small plane anyway. I am off to Auckland for a long weekend and the Semi-Permanent '08 Conference. And the best bit is, I don't have to pay! Work is shouting us this trip (thats the least they could do). I am so looking forward to it, I'm staying here, which has a tunnel directly to the conference (which is good because a lot of rain is predicted) and we get a $1 buffet breakfast each morning. It couldn't get any better. I won't have internet access so I'll see you on Sunday!

Splurge

I was trying really, REALLY hard not to spend money but I have a terrible addiction to new craft supplies. And yesterday was such a beautiful, great day and I thought there would be no better way to end it then by a quick browse around Spotlight, but that turned into quite a little shopping spree. My name is Diane, and I'm a craftaholic.

I could barely wait to get home on Friday to start on Rachel's tutorials. I'm pretty pleased with the way they turned out. It was a colour scheme I don't normally work with so I'm glad I pushed myself a little bit. Can't wait for the next one now! You can still join up here.

The Party!

Apart from the cold it was a great night. We all looked great and everyone was in fine spirits! The venue was beautiful, the staff were really great and the wine and food was superb. I had a really great time, despite being sick and I'm pretty sure everyone else did too.

Shane is not a wine drinker and yet he managed to polish off a couple of bottle himself. I've never seen him so smiley!

It was a late night and I've spent most of yesterday in bed sleeping and recovering. We got a bunch of really great gifts and warm wishes from everyone. Thank you all!

PARTY TIME!!!

The smile is totally forced, I feel dreadful, full of cold and a cough that won't quit. I really was hoping for a better attitude but I'm so stuffed up and full of drugs it is all I can do not to cry. Hopefully once I'm there I will start to feel better. Engagement Party here I come!
