Art Journaling

I just signed up for Rachael's Online Art Journaling Course. I'm quite excited. One, the first tutorial uses stuff you already have (which is good because I'm trying to save money and I have a LOT of stuff!). Two, I have never made an art journal before and I'd love a little guidance. And Three, I'm always looking for ways to get creative. And I love journal. And I love using my hands to make stuff after spending the whole day using a computer. There are so many reasons. Can you tell I'm excited.

I love her style!

I love her unassuming, quirky, sexiness. These photos for Agent Provocateur are just divine. Sensual, glamorous and I wish that for two seconds I could feel like she looks!

Thats right, wasting time again. But I'm sick and at work and I don't want to be so I've been messing round with Polyvore and come up with these:

A Sunday Afternoon Garden Wedding

And an Elegant Evening Wedding

Don't know which I prefer, I will probably never be able to decide!

Its finally Over!!

Today took forever. And I'm not even going to be able to walk home because it is teeming down. I'll have to hit the treadmill when I get home. I hate pointless walking!!
Bring on Tuesday!

Monday's always go so slowly...

If there is one thing I feel a deep repugnace for, it is Mondays. Especially cold, dark, rainy Mondays in the middle of Winter. I am so over it!
Its lucky my engagement party is at the end of the week or I would have nothing to keep me here and I may have to flee somewhere warm!

Some colour on an otherwise cloudy day

The weather this weekend has been appalling, my car (which was apparently fixed) has decided not to behave again, my back is killing me from so very large poster framing but it has been a pretty good weekend. Here are a couple of layouts I did using my Red Velvet Art Kit (last month's one!)...

And because I don't like wearing my engagement ring at night, and the box it came in is looking a little worse for wear from it's constant opening and closing, I wanted to make a little home for my ring to sleep in, this one is much prettier (and has an owl!)...

Now I'm off to ice my cupcakes and finish cooking my roast chicken for tea!!

Let them eat cake! (Or not!)

We had a delicious cake at morning tea today to celebrate some restructuring here in the office. So we were all chomping down the deliciousness and someone offered a piece to a new employee here and she proceeded to tell us that she wouldn't have any and couldn't stay because she had an intense phobia of sponge cake!?! Now I have a real sympathy for people who suffer from phobias but cake? Really?

Stuck for Ideas?

Here is 100 of them. Very inspiring and helpful.

My decorating style is...

I think this was pretty accurate. You can take the test here. Found via Kelly.

I LOVE MACRO!

When I got home tonight I had a few surprises sitting on my doorstep... a lovely new lamp from trina, some of my new scrapbooking papers (others are awaiting arrival, damn!), and my new macro extension rings for my 350D. I have no idea really how they work but they give me a really great macro at a fraction of the cost of an actual macro lens ($40 vs $600!). Here are my first [playing round] shots.

I'm really loving Photoshop actions too, makes even an less-then-ordinary shot pretty great.

More LO's

Finally some photos of the layout's I did in the weekend. It has barely stopped raining since so the photos aren't that good, but better then none.

The Winner is.....

MissDebs!!

Congrats! Email me your address and I'll get them in the post to you ASAP!

Best $20 I spent today!

I've felt the need for a haircut for the last few weeks but couldn't justify $75 for what effectively is just a trim. So today I bought a pair of thinning scissors and I have just finished cutting my hair. I am super pleased, this is exactly what I needed. And I saved $55. Am covered in hair though so got to go vacuum!

Umbrellas

1. After the rain has fallen..., 2. -, 3. Red umbrella, 4. Rainy Day / 雨の日, 5. Summer in the morning ~ Summer in the evening.., 6. Paper Umbrella Flowers, 7. Untitled, 8. It`s a kind of magic, 9. umbrella, 10. oriental ceiling, 11. Under the Umbrella, 12. under the umbrella

I don't know why, it's not even raining today!

Have also been shopping (online) again and have some delicious new paper coming (like I don't have enough!). Must actually do something with it this weekend. I printed out a whole bunch of random photos today so I'll have a lot of options.

Today is Friday for me so I should be drawing a winner but I'll wait until tomorrow just to be fair!

Finally, A GIVEAWAY!!

In honor of my being a blogger for a whole year (man time goes quickly round here) I am having a little giveaway. Just leave a comment about the best thing to happen to you this year by Friday and I'll randomly pick a winner and send you this pretty little set of earrings! Good Luck!

More Letterpress Earrings

Here are some (not so great) photos from all my earring making in the weekend. The first three are available here and I will list the others later in the week.

One Year Blog-iversary!

My first anniversary here. Can't believe its been a whole year. So paper is traditional for the first anniversary, so in honor of that, here are some layouts I've been working on.

My new engagement ring (makes my hands and my heart sparkle!)

Miss Melly is such a poser for the camera, or is it that she really doesn't want her photo taken?

Just some silly fun with Shane, he always cracks me up.

I've been busy making some more letterpress earrings this afternoon so I will update the shop as soon as it's light enough to take some photos.

And, I think I'll have a little giveaway this week just to start the next year off right. Stay Tuned.
