I almost finished the deer last night. Just four legs to go!I'm back at work today, can't believe I'm at work on a Saturday, my favourite day!
Got a lot to do so this will just have to be a short post.
I made little Ashlette (I'm not that fond of the name, I keep calling her Blythe! Might have to think a bit more about names...(edit: her name is now Amelia)) a wee pair of trouser last night so we had a little photo shoot in the fading light. The top and jacket are Barbie clothes I got yesterday which fit quite nicely.
I also made this little purple and red skirt, the top is another Barbie one. It was already very dark when this was finished so the photo isn't great.
On the back I gessoed a bit, added some old stamps and wrote a little bit more of the secret.
I made up my little book first, with random pages, papers, envelopes, cards etc. I gessoed and stitched and bound them together. Then I had a completed book and could quickly put the pages together, concentrating more on the feelings then what it looked like. I tried to be a bit more free and less contrived with the style. It was a lot of fun putting it together.

The first (very) little book has the journalling from my photo taking. It is just a bunch of random papers, sewn together with some fabric, lace and ribbon.
I also have my little 'post secret' postcard, I made it with a magazine page, some gesso, a paper flower and some brown paper stamped with my secret.
Then my little package which holds my photos. I used velum, crinkled it up then painted it with pearlised paint. Folded, cut, stitched and made a little closure with some cutouts, eyelets and some embroidery floss. Because my box is so small I made some poladroids of my photos.

The lid of my box is subdued and plain. I wanted to go with a neutral colour palette and really let the 'story' stand out. I used my favourite little vintage goodies and a few sparkles for good measure!
I loved Kara's idea of a little treasure map so inside my box there are a million layers of paint. I love how some of the metallic paint shows through in place and makes the whole inside glow (hard to tell in these pics I know!). I glued some lace around the top and draw my little map inside, which was quite hard, the box is quite deep so I had to hold the pen really funny (it must have been hilarious to watch, like a chimp using tools for the first time!)
The bottom of the box uses Kara's word prompts and a few more sparkly sequins. I'm altogether very happy with the box and it looks lovely sitting in my messy little room. Hopefully I'll post the rest soon.
I couldn't let little Sunday Best sit on the shelf all by herself so I decided to get her a big sister. Ashlette arrived this morning and I was very tempted to skip work and stay home and admire her but I carried on out the door after taking a quick snap of her in her new home. Tracy says she is creepy but I'd have to disagree!
So late on Sunday night I decided to challenge myself and finally create something from Elizabeth Doherty's book, Amigurumi! Super Happy Crochet Cute. I gathered together bits and pieces I had at home and begun.
And last night, this is what I had. I've still got heaps to go but I'm pretty proud of getting this far. Must actually finish it now! Hope I don't get distracted by any new acquisitions...

I've been loving Kara's Life Story class, it has really been pushing my boundries! These are some photos I have taken using her prompts. I cheated a little and didn't use film but my trusty digital camera. I did, however, take it off auto and take proper photos like I learned to in school. It has been quite the learning curve again!
Some Flocculence favorites to calm my mind this afternoon...

The new post at work your soul is awesome! Flocculence is "soft/light/milky/opaque/comforting/fluffy/creamy/pale/sleepy/delicate/soft!". The flickr pool is amazing! I was totally inspired to take some photos (above) of our amazing Hydranga bush and I also made this layout last night, it was the perfect Sunday night, quite and rainy, just right for creating!
Feeling a little unmotivated today so I followed Michelle's lead and came up with a little random Flickr goodness. Makes me want to take more photos, so hopefully we get some sun this weekend!
My little Sunday Best is here. I have called her Pixel. I made her a new outfit last night, a little navy and white polka dot skirt with red ribbon belt and a little white top. It was hard making such tiny clothes but quite fun too! I have a million ideas for other things too but my eyes can only handle so much squinting!
I've wanted a tattoo for so long! And all the recent Miami Ink watching hasn't helped either. I change my mind so often about styles/colours etc that I'm really worried I'll end up not liking it. Plus I am petrified of needles! But I still really want one.
I thought I'd have a go at Effer Dares latest prompt. I am a Blythe Virgin! But not for much longer. Credits for the photos in the layout are below.
I have finally found somewhere in New Zealand that stocks Petite Blythe Dolls and one is on it's way from IkoIko in Wellington this very minute! I am getting Perfect Sunday Best and I can't wait to see her. I am obsessed with all things minature and I'm sure she'll be no exception.
