I succumbed. I finally managed to find some Perler beads here in little old Dunedin. And now I have another obsession. I can't stop making things, they are so cute and the colours are awesome!

In my playlist page below I used little polaroids of my favourite bands. All made with Poladroid and resized in Photoshop. I love Poladroid. I love how long they take to develop, that it only lets you take 10 photos, that it doesn't cost a million dollars for film!

My Playlist

I was really inspired by Christina's Listen Up mini book so I made this page to document the music I am listening to at the moment. This was the second attempt, I just wasn't feeling the first attempt so I ripped it up and started again. I'm liking this one much better.

What kind of creative are you?

This was fun. Not sure how they come up with the answers, it doesn't seem that scientific, but I thought it was fairly accurate. Found via How About Orange.

Picnics and Sunshine

We had a scorcher of a weekend this weekend. It got to 31°C (88°F) which is pretty rare for Dunedin, let me tell you. I did a lot of art journaling, crocheting and got a few layouts done, including this one. It was another great day, the last day of our summer holiday and we had a very nice, relaxing picnic at the Botanic Garden.

Villain or Superhero?

The latest challenge at Scrap Mojo is about your inner super hero. Might be just me but I think the villains always have more fun! I'd probably be quite a harmless villain but still, cupcakes can't be all bad!

Meet the Meep

I had started his head before Christmas but I finally finished him this weekend.

Another Christmas Layout

Needed to chill last night so I popped on my iPod, listened to Sarah McLachlan's Rarities, B-Sides and Other Stuff, Vol. 2 (which I am loving!) and made a quick page . This is my sis with the little (big) amigurumi monster I made her for Christmas.

This will all be history...

There is a new prompt up at Work your soul and with all the problems/issues I've been having lately, I thought I would do a little art journal page about history. I love how history influences today, things never really disappear but I also know that these things I am dealing with at the moment will very soon be my history. I have to hold onto that right now.

New Year, New Look

A little update to the blog is in order I think. So new fonts, header and colours it is. Mostly I am avoiding work so back to it I go.

My little garden friend

The last few days I have had a little visitor in the garden and yesterday I managed to get a photo of him. He is so small and cute, but those prickles are sharp!

The rest of December Daily

I did actually manage to finish this, not in December but as soon as I got home, and have been meaning to take some pictures for a while. You can see the rest in my Flickr Set.

Life may not be perfect...

But sometimes it is pretty good. This is a cute quote I heard on Ugly Betty and decided to scrap last night. I've had a pretty rough time lately, health-wise, and have found out it isn't going to go away anytime soon but I am trying to find the good each day. Made using some leftover Sassafras Lass bits.

I hate to call it a resolution...

I'd like to think about it more like my mission statement for this year. This year I want more. Which means I have to do LESS. Less will get me more.

Struggling...

I am almost at the end of my second day of work and I am struggling. I went to the doctor today and had a barrage of tests, probably all confirming the thing we both think is the cause of my many symptoms. Stress and anxiety. She suggested, again, some mood-altering chemicals and I am torn about what to do. I really don't want to rely of drugs, I thought I could do this without them. But I'm starting to think a little help might be good. It might give me the time I need to get myself working properly again. I don't know. I told her I'd think about it and get back to her. In the mean time, I haven't drawn anything for weeks but here is a couple of quickies I did before Christmas.

START

A new page for OLW, missed the deadline but loved doing it anyway! I decided that this would be the first page in a new album for this year as well, so a fresh start is exactly what I need!

Christmas LO's

A couple of Christmas pages using the last ever (sigh) RVA kit which arrived just before I left.

Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, Finally!

Sorry, that was a long break but I kept very busy and it was well-needed after last year.
During my absence I:
- screen-printed my own wrapping paper
- said goodbye to a good friend
- went home for Christmas
- flew to Australia and spent a wonderfully hot week on the Gold Coast
- rang in the New Year
- flew home and caught up on a months worth of washing
- finally got to do a little bit of crafting.

I'm exhausted and ready for a holiday. Oh wait, I had the holiday and start back at work tomorrow. Oh well, maybe next year!
So a very belated Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you all. I hope you had a relaxing break!
