Kyla wrote a great piece this week about her talisman. It really got me thinking and I realised I've had a talisman of my very own these last few months.
Before I left Dunedin, my friend gave me a beautiful necklace. I adored it. It spoke to me. It was a silhouette of a girl with a napsack, striding along. To me, she seemed sure of herself, confident and brave. I have worn that necklace a LOT in the last four months, and when I do I feel braver and stronger. It reminds me of all the amazing things I have done and will be able to do.
Now I'm happy to have a little helping hand hanging around my neck when things are tough.
