Recipe No's. 3, 4 and 5

In between all the gardening I managed to make three new recipes too, Orange Lightning Cake, Birdseed Bars and Chocolate and Caramel Meringues. All were a delicious break from the hard work and driving rain!

Recipe No. 2 :: Tartiflettes

Little Paris Kitchen by Rachel Khoo is one of my favourite recipe books to read and I thought it was high time that I actually made something from it. So I choose to make Nids de Tartiflette (Cheese and Potato nests).

These were simple to make and so delicious, the perfect little rainy-day lunch.

Getting organised

For many years I've been collecting recipes I love, usually on various scraps of paper, most often without titles, or a full set of instructions.

So last weekend, I put a stop to this madness and bought a recipe journal so I have all my treasured recipes in one place. It took quite a while to start writing them all down and I've got a long way to go before I've got them all in there.

Can't wait to start adding some new favourites!

Recipe #1 :: Eggs benedict with spinach muffins

I first saw this recipe on The Fabulous Baker Brothers and I knew I had to give it a go immediately (well, the next day anyway).

The spinach muffins were a doddle to make and were 100x better then any bought muffins I've ever had.

I'm always a sucker for Hollandaise Sauce so it may be a bit dangerous that I've now discovered how incredible simple it is to make!

Of course, I have poached eggs before and we decided to have smoked salmon instead of ham. And the whole thing together was scrummy!

And I definitely can't wait until daylight savings kicks in so I don't have to take photos at night under our terrible lights.

So one down, eleven to go!
