Mini Instax Display Frame

I can't all this a tutorial because it is so super easy and fun. Here are the steps I used to create this little photo display.
  1. Take and old frame and remove the glass.
  2. Wrap the backing board with pretty fabric. Glue or tape on the back side.
  3. Tie string (or yarn, wire, embroidery floss etc) around the board at the top and near the middle. Secure on the back with glue or tape.
  4. Put your backing board back into the frame and peg your favourite mini instax's onto the string.
  5. Sit back and admire your handy work!
Now I the only frame I had on hand was fairly small and only fit six photos. And I had a lot more than six that I wanted to display. So I also did this ...

I've now displayed all but one of my little pretties. Time to make some more I think!

How do you store your instax photos?

I'm a huge fan of my mini instax. It takes pride of place on my top shelf, next to my Spirit 600. And I take a lot of photos with it. But then what? Well, then those little beauties sit around in piles, or go into a draw never to see the light of day again. I have so many favourites that I really need a better way to display them. Here are a few cool ways that I found this morning ...

A pretty wicked wall display from the blog is found.

A cute little instax treasure book via Bloesem Kids.

A re-purposed business card holder from Amy Moreby.

A rainbow ordered wall display via Photojojo

A pretty inspiration garland from Cindy {K}.

A handmade mini album for mini instax from Amy Tangerine.

Hopefully, I'll be back later on with a simple little DIY for displaying all those neglected lovelies!

I could resist no longer ...

... I finally got myself a new mac. We have been spending a lot of quality time getting to know each other. I think we are going to be great friends.

Pick & Mix :: Chilly morning

I'm totally inspired by this inexpensive, temporary, kitchen make-over. It's given me a few ideas about temporarily fancying up our little kitchen. Via Young House Love.

Elise opened a cool new stamp shop and I'm only having trouble deciding which ones to get, or whether to get them all!

Love these wedding invites. The colours, the layers, it is all so simple, elegant and fun! Via Oh So Beautiful Paper.

Who wouldn't love to start a business with a friend making beautiful jewellery? Even better if your dogs get to come to work with you! Via Glitter Guide.

This dinner party has started me dreaming about my birthday this year. I'm thinking a laidback, beautiful dinner party is just the way to go. Via DesignLoveFest.

I hope you're keeping warm today!

Happy List

A couple of weeks ago, Kaylah made a list of simple pleasures. I was having a pretty bad day yesterday, so I decided to take a leaf out of her [note]book and make myself feel better by focusing on some happy stuff instead.

The list worked great. But what really made me happy was this ...

Turns out my little Melly has a bit of a stationary thing as well.

Photo Assignment :: Weeks 1-6

Here are a few of my photos from the first six weeks of photography study ...

What do you think? It's been a bit painful getting used to studying again (stretching my brain, deadlines, assignment constrictions) but I feel like I'm getting into the flow of it. Which is lucky. I'm doing this part-time so I'll be riding this flow for a few more years yet!

Manicure Monday

I needed a bit of cheering up this weekend and nothing cheers me up more than pretty colours and polka dots. Except when I can combine them!

This time last week ...

... I faced my fears and my sister and I took our Dad on a helicopter flight over Wanaka for his 60th birthday. I was terrified but when you have views like this ...

... you can't help but replace the fear with wonder and amazement!

Creating layers

Computers are great, a fantastic tool I've built a career around. But I feel like I spend my entire life staring at a screen (well, at least 9 hours a day). Sometimes I forget the pleasure of using my hands, getting dirty and creating layers one at a time.

But when I remember, it feels good. Really good.

Manicure Monday

My Easter nails were sweet and simple. With just a touch of glitter, because, well ... who doesn't love glitter?

Loves

Nothing really makes me happier than new nail polish. Except when it's only $3 a bottle.

I like taking photos, but I love instant gratification.

I love remembering that sometimes a little mess is exactly what I need.

I love her little angel face.

I don't love the cold, but I love the excuse to wear my scarf collection.

I love curling up under the covers and losing myself in a good book.

I hope your Easter is filled with rest, relaxation and lots and lots of chocolate!

Pick & Mix:: April showers

I can't wait to get a hold of this book! I might not live in a nutshell, but it's pretty close. Via Design*Sponge

We're almost done with dress weather here but I love these dress/occassion combinations from SF Girl by Bay.

Speaking of chillier weather, I'm happy to say that tight weather is here. And these are the perfect splash of colour on a chilly, grey day. Via Design*Sponge.

I'm not much of a gardener but this little terrarium looks so pretty (and pretty maintenance free).

This is such a sweet wedding, it made me start dreaming about ours. I'm picturing something pretty close to this actually.
