Oh Deer!
So my little deer I so lovingly crocheted had started to get a bit droopy. His beans had started settling and he no longer stood up. He looked quite sad and was taking up precious space on my shelf but I didn't want to throw him away. So viola!

My Dearest
A weekend of furious crocheting resulted in my second deer being finished, luckily too, as I'm heading home to see mum this weekend and it is an early birthday present for her!
Fawn v2.0
My mum loved the first Fawn so much she asked me to make one for her. The weather has been aweful so it was a good excuse to sit down and start. Here is a couple of sneeks...

All alliteration aside, I have finally finished the fawn. It is a little lop-sided but very cute and I am very proud to have finally finished something from a pattern!

I almost finished the deer last night. Just four legs to go!I'm back at work today, can't believe I'm at work on a Saturday, my favourite day!

Dearly dee for me
So late on Sunday night I decided to challenge myself and finally create something from Elizabeth Doherty's book, Amigurumi! Super Happy Crochet Cute. I gathered together bits and pieces I had at home and begun.
And last night, this is what I had. I've still got heaps to go but I'm pretty proud of getting this far. Must actually finish it now! Hope I don't get distracted by any new acquisitions...

Good I am loving these! Again, much help from Hook and Needles, including the pattern, a few hours on a rainy Saturday and there I have it, my Halloween costume (it just needs to be sewn to a head band now!).

Over the last three days I have taught myself to crochet, using the internet and some helpful and some not-so-helpful video tutorials. After some pretty appalling attempts I found Hook and Needles, the most helpful site with some really great beginners tutorials. I was off and running and today at lunch I completed my first little amigurumi using this pattern. Now I'm hooked. I've already bought the wool for my next little project! But more on that later...
