Around here we've been watching the pouring rain, celebrating 10 years, reading up a storm, working hard and enjoying the sun. How about you?

Around here I've been spending every spare minute (in between rain and hail(!) showers) in the garden, tidying and trimming, weeding and enjoying. I've hardly spent any time there during the winter and it is quite a surprise to see everything growing and thriving.

It happens at this time of year, every year I become obsessed with light. All light, lack of light, rays of light, twinkling light. It is slowly getting lighter around here, just not as fast as I would like it to be!

Around here we are celebrating the winter solstice by cozying up round the fire, hunting out moments of light and dreaming of warmer months to come.

Its been so dark and wet around here lately. Mostly all we've been doing is trying to find the light. The sparkle lights are on, we bask in the sun when we can, lighting candles at night. Dreaming of brighter times.

Around Here :: Skies

As it gets darker and darker around here, the only bright spot is the beautiful sunrises and sunsets we've been having. So dramatic and colourful.

Road Trip :: Central Otago

Last weekend we headed to Central Otago to celebrate my mum's 60th birthday. But the real star of the weekend was the beautiful area. Autumn really is the best time to visit Central, and despite the chill in the air, we had a great time driving around and taking in the scenery.

Blue skies, crystal clear water and a stunning display of Autumn colours. What more could you ask for.

Always happy to head back to my old stomping ground and see how the place has changed, visit all my old haunts and find some new favourites. Can't wait to go back!
