Pick & Mix :: Finally Friday

Its been a pretty long week around here and I am SO looking forward to just chilling this weekend. Here's a few of the things I've had my eye on lately ...

These Charred Corn Crepes look delicious. Not much fresh corn around here yet but the moment it arrives, you can bet I'll be making these.

These Jello Mold paintings by Arnout van Albada are so soft and soothing, this one would be perfect in my study. Via DesignLoveFest.

I love the quirkiness of this home. You can tell that everything has a story and is loved.

And in case I need something sweet after my Charred Corn Crepes, I'm thinking these Brown Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies would be perfection.

I've been on the lookout for a good book (or two, or three) and it just so happens that Summer has hit the Northern hemisphere. Which means summer-reading lists abound. There are some interesting looking books here and here too. Now my trouble will be narrowing them down.

Let me know if there are any other good reads I should add to my list!

Pick & Mix :: New Year

I love this headboard diy from A Beautiful Mess, so many possibilities for this one.

I love this house tour but especially this outrageous wallpapered bathroom, such a statement in an otherwise subdued home.

I'm always on the lookout for storage ideas and this one is super cute. I'm also crushing on the entire bathroom design. I can't wait to get stuck into ours.

I'm a huge fan of homemade marshmallows and I can't wait to try this new flavour combo, it sounds delicious!

I've been wanting to paint my studio pink for a while and with such high ceilings, I think this two-toned effect would look great.

I hope 2013 is filled with all sorts of pretty things and wonderful moments for us all!

Pick & Mix :: Tuesday Morning

Creature Comforts had a cool roundup of pillow designs from Society6, but I also really love this one!

I love all the black and white in this sneek peek from Design*Sponge. It really sets off the wee pops of colour.

This TED talk is hilarious and enlightening and I've watched it, like 10 times now.

I totally have room for a photography studio / guest house like this one in our backyard!

Ever since I saw this cabin renovation, I can't stop thinking how nice it would be to have a little place to escape to.

I've enjoyed making my own room spray this year, although I've only stuck with lavendar. This tutorial has given me a few ideas for a different direction though.

The desert buffet from this inspiration shoot looks just about perfect and totally do-able from my perspective.

Pick & Mix :: Visitors

My mum is coming to stay for a few days to help me totally landscape our backyard. Hopefully on Wednesday I'll be able to show some before and after pics, or I might be too tired to even type!

In the meantime, here are a few things I'm crushing on this week...

This home is perfect, I could move in straight away. I mean, there is butterfly wallpaper!

These scarves are SO beautiful, but in reality I would have to swirl it around like this, rather than wear it. Via SFgirlbyBay.

This looks like a really fun dinner. I love the lights and the super long table filled with interesting people. This looks like it might have made the list for possible reception ideas!

Pick & Mix :: Brushstrokes

I'm trying to get a bit more art up on my walls and I'm inspired by the use of art in this house tour. I'm especially fond of the large paintings hung over beds.

There is always an over-abundance of jars in our house and this looks like a seriously cute way of up-cycling them. Definitely on my to-do list.

This wedding is in France so it was already going to be a favourite but there are so many lovely little details that I can't help but love it even more.

I haven't even upgraded my iPhone yet but already I'm having a hard job deciding what sort of case to get. Something like this is a definite possiblilty.

As much as I love colour, it is amazing what a coat of white paint can do.

I love this kitchen make-over, mostly because of the blackboard paint.

This home is my ideal mix of real, lived in style. Full of life, colour and art.
