Bye Bye Blythes...

They have spent the best part of the last year packed up in their boxes from the move, so I've decided that it is time to say goodbye to the Blythes.

I still love their quirky little faces ...

... but it is time they moved on.

If you're interested in any of these little ladies you can see their details here or leave me a comment and I'll get back to you.

Easter weekend was...

Easter weekend was spent enjoying the (infrequent) sun, making hats for the Blythes, walking the dog (lots), sleeping late, art journalling, time spent smelling the flowers, making and planning for our little tea party. It was great. This weekend will probably pan out about the same but will also include a going-away party and 50th birthday party. I've got my fingers crossed for the enjoying the sunshine bit!

Kitty got new eyes!

Kitty finally got her new chips and I was going to change her make-up but I think I love her just the way she is! She looks so summery and fresh. Love.

I put in four new sets of CoolCat chips, and I drew some iris patterns to go in behind them. I love them, it gives a really realistic look to them.

I think the other girls are starting to accept her!

Meet Violet

My little Pleasant Peasant Lorelei and I never really bonded. In fact she's been in a half-finished state of transformation for more than a year. Last night I finally finished her. And now I love her like I really wanted to! To finish her off I got the softest most beautiful plum coloured Tibetan Lambskin Skinny.
I changed out all her eyechips to different shades of violet/purple and renamed her Violet! She'd go perfectly with MsDebs latest creation!

She's here!

I'm not sure the other girls like her! Now I have to come up with a new name for her.

A new girl is on her way!

Little Cassiopeia Spice is (hopefully) winging her way to me as we speak! She is so pretty with lovely golden blonde hair and a cute little fringe.

She also comes with a little camera which is just too perfect!

A good Mail Day!

It really was a terrible day yesterday, busy at work, two hour delay at doctors, blood tests and a headache. But when I got home last night, everything suddenly got better (until it got much worse again*).

Mail, and lots of it. Good mail too.

I got my fabulously cute fabric from ikoplus which arrived super quick and is even cuter in real life!

My cute tights arrived from Sock Dreams, now this was amazingly quick postage, only a few days which is almost totally unheard of between America and New Zealand. Plus the tights are lovely!

And the lovely Debbie sent me the most fabulous little cardigans for my Blythes. They are so cute and considering she didn't have a doll to fit them to, they are pretty much perfect!

I do love a good mail day.

*I then proceeded to get an upset stomach from dinner and attacked by the cat which left me covered in bandaids and crying in the bathroom. Today is going much better.

And the countdown begins...

I am so hanging out for the holidays! I'm not sure how I'm going to make it though the next few days. I can't wait for the food, the family visit, the potato salad, the sunshine, the gifts, the food, the relaxation, did I mention the food? I have baked the rolls and made the pecan pie. I have the roast lamb in the fridge and the BBQ chicken is waiting.

This weekend was mostly christmas prep and tending to the ill but I did get a little time to make a wee christmas pudding hat for the Blythes. They of course fought over it!

Then hid under the christmas tree!

The spooking hour

Not having any kids of my own, I had to resort to dressing up the Blythes for Halloween. I used a few different scraps and trims and ribbons and made these.
A couple of felt accessories and let the spooking begin...

Blythe just got creepier!

I finally took the plunge and decided to give my little Lorelei a bit of a spruce up with some mild customization.

I carefully removed her scalp (which had quite a bit of glue on it) and opened her head no problem.

I had to soak the eye mech for a long time to get the eyelashes out! I corrected her gaze and I might give her sleep eyes too.

She is yet to get new eyelashes, new makeup and I am going to reroot her hair into a dark brown bob with a fringe. I've never loved her blonde hair, it looked funny with her dark, pink toned skin.

My Girls

Haven't really been in the mood to scrap lately. Its too dark and cold and all I wanna do is curl up in bed with a book. But I was a bit bored the other night so finally sat down and made something I love. I hardly ever use blue when I scrap so this was a nice change. Had to use the fish stickers I got too!

New Headgear for Blythes Everywhere!

These are the new headbands I made. I used all sorts of felt and ribbons, embroidery floss and some of the vintage button haul I got from my grandparents place. I like that I am using the buttons that my nana so carefully collected and kept. Some of them are really pretty (I must take some photos!). There were so many (a whole grocery bag full) so I took about 6 jars worth and then donated the rest to charity. Hopefully someone else will find them as useful as I do!

Blythe Headbands

Had a little photoshoot with Lorelei wearing one of the new headbands I made last night. I'm really pleased with how they turned out!

Head over Heels

I had such fun in the weekend making my girls some new headwear! Shane helped me make the bases and then I covered them with all my favourite ribbons and bits using a very smelly glue. It made a very grey day a little bit brighter (but not bright enough for decent photos!)

NEW SHOP OPEN!

I've been thinking about selling my Blythe creations and now I actually am. I just opened my new etsy store Dear Dolly. I'll slowly be listing cute new Blythe clothes and accessories as I make them. Check it out!

Blythe Scrapbook Love

My lovely mum gave me some money for my birthday so of course I ran straight to Scrapbook Paradise and spent said money! Came home last night and got three pages done. I totally love my new Fiskars Upper Crest punch, I managed to use it on all three pages. It's really quite versatile.

My Ladies are getting a present!

Look what I just bought from Danielle. You should very quickly go to her shop Tiny Bazaar and see if you can nab one yourself. I predict they will fly off the shelves. I've been eyeing this one since she first blogged about them. What a talented lady!
