What I'd rather be doing right now...
I'd rather be building a great fort to play in! It will have lots of fairy lights, good books, stars, balloons, soft pillows and cozy blankets. An art journal and a cute puppy are essentials, of course!
Progress
I spent a bit of time painting this weekend. I always forget how much I love painting, it's so repetitive, so relaxing. Still have quite a way to go but am very happy with it so far.
Struggling...
I am almost at the end of my second day of work and I am struggling. I went to the doctor today and had a barrage of tests, probably all confirming the thing we both think is the cause of my many symptoms. Stress and anxiety. She suggested, again, some mood-altering chemicals and I am torn about what to do. I really don't want to rely of drugs, I thought I could do this without them. But I'm starting to think a little help might be good. It might give me the time I need to get myself working properly again. I don't know. I told her I'd think about it and get back to her. In the mean time, I haven't drawn anything for weeks but here is a couple of quickies I did before Christmas.
Card drawing
So I haven't got the tattoo yet but have been using the little bird I drew on a few things, a layout challenge (below) and this little card I made for someone special.
The Little Bride
Ever since the engagement (sigh) I've kinda had this girl in my head. I'm not saying its me but its what I'd picture a bride to be. Sorry for the crap photo but it was the middle of the night, well here in the middle of winter, it seems like it is always dark. Today we are actually forecast for snow! It won't snow of course, it'll just be freezing cold and wet. But having Mid-Winter on Saturday means that it is only going to get lighter now, bring on Summer I say!
BlueBird
I've been toying with the idea of a tattoo for a while now and the other day I sketched it into reality.
I'm thinking of shades of blue/aqua and yellow. On my shoulder and eventually a little mirror image of it will go on my other shoulder. Now just have to work up the courage and the money!

SHOP UPDATE!
My new collection of drawings is up in the shop now. Themed "Under the Sea" it is a collection of cute underwater creatures. Jellyfish, dolphin, whale, seahorse and the above fishes. Have a look!
Itty Bitty
Yesterday I found a really great book of old nature illustrations, courtesy of Cherry Fields, Artforms of Nature by Ernst Haeckel (available here) which is now in the public domain and can be used in your own artwork. Which is brilliant timing because I am about to receive a few little ACEO's in the post and have been making a little album to house them but I couldn't decide on what to put on the cover.
I just love this hummingbird illustration and printed it, doublesided, onto really thick silver metallic card. The photos don't do it justice, but the birds really shimmer.
The back is printed as well, with the bottom half of the illustration.
And the inside pages are really thick black card with enough space to house 96 ACEO's. Now I can't wait to fill it up with them. Let me know if you want swap an ACEO with me as I have been making a few originals and limited editions during the long weekend.

I have just updated the shop with my newest collection of drawings, Mythicals. Prints are for sale now and I will be adding magnets really soon! There are five new drawings, Unicorn, Phoenix, Loch Ness, Dragon and Yeti. Which is your favourite?
Munny, how shall I decorate thee!
For the last few nights I have been drawing ideas for how to decorate my new "Munny". It has turned into quite a good exersize, Shane keeps giving me character ideas and then I draw them. I think I may keep going for a few days yet. Some of then have turned out really well but I am still undesided on how to actually decorate him. I may just leave him how he is.

Buttons anyone?
My buttons/badges (so hard to decide what to call them) arrived yesterday in the post, as well as a coupe of other goodies, but this was definitely the icing on the cake. I love them! They look much better then I hoped. There was even a little extra fridge magnet in there! This is them all packed up and ready for the shop, which should be open on Friday! (fingers crossed!)
Drawing while watching sunshine!
I had a really great night last night! Delicious kebabs for tea then curled up on the bed, spread out my stuff and drew two more little cuties while watching Little Miss Sunshine. I just adore that movie. I had to stop drawing to wipe away the tears of laughter when I got to the part with the horn... hilarious! Anyway here are the results...

New Banner
A new project calls for a new banner for the blog, just to keep everything cohesive and together.
Happy 2nd Anniversary!
Today is mine and Shane's second anniversary. Two years has seemed to fly by. And in honor of that, a little green bird drawing, completed this afternoon.
