Crafty Twins Mood Board Challenge :: March

Are you ready for the next Crafty Twins Mood Board Challenge? This mood board is full of pastel-y goodness!

I'm definitely more of a brights, rather than pastel fan, so I switched things up a little and used the same colour palette from the mood board, just slightly more saturated! I created a grid pattern to mimic the bricks in the mood board and then just went to town cutting and sticking!

Crafty Twins Mood Board Challenge :: February

Are you ready for the next Crafty Twins Mood Board Challenge? This mood board was a little bit challenging to me, with all that black and green and orange!

I loved the graphic text piece in the moodboard so I decided to replicate that using some older metal alpha dies and some watercolour paper (which gives the letters a lovely texture!). Funnily enough, I had taken a photo that morning which perfectly suited the mood board colours and then all I needed to add was some hidden journalling and a couple of bits from an old Citrus Twist kit (which I vaguely remembered having some orange paper in it and I can't believe I managed to find the right one!).

Crafty Twins Mood Board Challenge :: January

Are you ready for the next Crafty Twins Mood Board Challenge? The first mood board of the year is bright and fun and full of pink!

Unfortunately, I haven't been feeling quite as bright and fun as the mood board suggested, so although I used the colours of the mood board, my page is a little more subdued! I took inspiration from all the circles in the board and spent some time stitching and reflecting which ended up being very therapeutic! That older stamp from Kellie Stamps was absolutely perfect for this page too.

Traveler's Notebook Layout :: Crafty Twins Mood Board Challenge #7

Are you ready for the next Crafty Twins Mood Board Challenge? The mood board this month is sweet and cozy and I took it completely literally!

I used two of the images from the mood board and completely took them literally. I altered the quote to suit my own tastes (dogs over books) but found some brick paper and letter stickers to replicate it as closely as possible. Then I used the cozy bed photo and made my own shelf out of paper and photo and washi. I even hung some "lights" too!

Poor Essie is completely under the weather at the moment so I gave her the month off! But please head on over to her channel and leave her some love because it is also her BIRTHDAY today!

Traveler's Notebook Layout :: Crafty Twins Mood Board Challenge #6

Are you ready for the next Crafty Twins Mood Board Challenge? The mood board this month is bright and bold and perfect for a good pun!

I'll be honest, this was my second attempt at this mood board challenge. The first one was ok, but just didn't feel like me, or even feel like the mood board. So I gave it another shot and this one is SO much better. I'd go so far as to say I love it. Because, well, donuts and funny quotes. Yes, please!

Traveler's Notebook Layout :: Crafty Twins Mood Board Challenge #5

Are you ready for the next Crafty Twins Mood Board Challenge? Essie created the most gorgeous mood board for this month and as soon as I saw it I knew exactly what I was going to do!

Since I am still obsessed with the AC Digital store, I resized and printed all the gorgeous papers that I thought would match the mood board, including my FAVOURITE marble paper from Maggie Holmes, which ended up being printed on vellum!

Then I also used up most of the die cuts I had created for my tutorial video, a lucky coincidence that they matched perfectly!

Traveler's Notebook Layout :: Crafty Twins Mood Board Challenge #4

Are you ready for the next Crafty Twins Mood Board Challenge? I created the mood board for this month and even though they aren't my normal sort of colours, I've been LOVING orange lately!

As soon as I saw this sunset, I knew it would be the perfect photo for this mood board, all those oranges and yellows.

I created my own pattern paper with an old Ashley G stamp to replicate the wallpaper from the mood boards and I was really inspired by those orange squares of paper, so I cut my photo into a grid and folded down the top left corner of my page, revealing a little pop of copper (after a bit of a mistake and a bit of luck!).

Traveler's Notebook :: Crafty Twins Mood Board Challenge #3

Are you ready for the next Crafty Twins Mood Board Challenge? Essie created the mood board for this month and I REALLY had to step out of my comfort zone to work with all those greens!

I have to admit, I cheated a bit and those green greens became more teal greens. But the cooler colours seemed so appropriate for this wintery photo, so thats the direction I went.

The heavy strip at the top seemed to echo the dark heavy feeling the weather has around here lately and I guess all those circles and splatters are equally representative of the weather – theres's snow forecast for today!

Traveler's Notebook :: Crafty Twins Mood Board Challenge #2

Are you ready for the second Crafty Twins Mood Board Challenge? I created the mood board for this month and, of course, I couldn't go past something a bit rainbow-y.

I was so inspired by this mood board that I ended up with TWO pages from it! The first was inspired by the yellow motivational quote. I scripted a quote on yellow paper, added some colourful photos from my crafty space and topped it all off with some enamel dots. The yellow paper crinkled a bit as I glued it down and I wish it was flatter but hey, that's life isn't it. Bright, bold but sometimes a little bit crinkly round the edges!

My second page was inspired by the repeated words and the art with the pom pom garland hanging from it.

I used the MAKERS GONNA MAKE stamp from Kellie Stamps and did some repeat stamping in blue, with one stamp in pink as a focal point. Then I created a paper garland and "hung" it over my page. I really love how this turned out, it's all jangly and moves about when the pages are turned!
